lived in a rundown downtown area during the Vietnamese boat lift. these folks would have 3 or 4 whole families in one house and 6 camaro’s. right after they moved in we noticed there were far less stray dogs in the neighborhood and after 6 months it was rare to see a stray at all. didn’t find out untilvyears later that the Vietnamese like dogs. for lunch.

I grew up with a number of Vietnamese that their parents came over during the evac in the 1970s they are all GenX being first gen born here. Dog was routinely served at new year’s or special occasions. Never strays that had kennels in the back acreage we all had 5 to 15 acre plots in my area growing up those were for Chow dogs the breed normally eaten.
