Former Vice President Mike Pence made his professor debut this week at Grove City College.
In April, the college announced that Pence would be a distinguished visiting fellow for the college’s new Center for Faith and Public Life, teaching a political science class alongside College President Paul McNulty.
“I just have immense respect for the mission of Grove City College,” Pence said in a news release. “The opportunity to teach several courses with young men and women who I know are going to be Christian leaders in this country in the years ahead is a great privilege.”
On Thursday, Pence and McNulty taught two classes – Christianity and Public Policy, a small seminar course for students affiliated with the College’s Institute for Faith and Freedom think tank, and Faith and Public Service, a larger lecture class that has more than 200 students signed up.
The classes meet once a week with McNulty presiding in person and Pence videoconferencing from his home base in Indiana if he isn’t on campus.
Pence asked students to be “patient” with him and mentioned that his wife, a retired teacher, said teaching is “harder than it looks.”
“I’m extremely impressed with the graciousness of the student body,” Pence said. “The warm welcome that I’ve received from students from literally every background has been very humbling.”

Good place for Mike. I expect the class to be oversubscribed. Even with our differences, I would be interested in such a class.

I saw Mike get owned by George Stephanopoulos during a TV interview when Mike was Governor of Indiana. The interview centered on the legal defense of traditional marriage. I quickly realized that Mike was all politician and no logician as he bumbled around trying to offer rationales for the conservative position. I wouldn’t imagine that anyone desiring substance would get anything from his class.
“I wouldn’t imagine that anyone desiring substance would get anything from his class.”

It would be a sad commentary if his class was oversubscribed. Pence has little to offer his students in terms of learning about real principles, courage and integrity.
Skip the class and hang out in public restrooms if you want to learn how to troll for homos.

They should just watch Trump, not listen to Pence, to learn about freedom and public service. All they're going to get from Pence is pontificating posturing.
Pence currently lives in Carmel, IN, about 400 miles away from Grove City, PA.
I can’t imagine why anyone would sign up for a course in “Advanced Treason”
Generic comments aside, why exactly is Pence turning on Trump? If you say he was bribed, etc., can you prove it? He does strike me as an honorable man and his lack of endorsement bothers me a bit.
Also, I understand Grove City is an excellent Christian college. One of my granddaughter will probably go there?
Did the fly follow him there?
A class on Judas.
What exactly qualifies him to lecture on Christianity and Public Policy?
I’d tell those students at Grove City to read the Durham Report and then follow the actions of ‘Christians’ Pence and DeSantis that both announced their Presidential runs against the main victim of that report, after that report came out..
Odd actions for Christians in public to do..
RE: You know what’s really interesting about GCC?
Its endowment...
It has quite a large endowment for a medium size college, but I don’t see one major donor who can influence what the college teaches. All I know is like Hillsdale, Grove City refuses any government money in order to maintain its independence.
TRAITOR!
The number of shallow and hateful comments is a disappointment. Suit yourselves.
“new Center for Faith and Public Life”
I hear it has been renamed the Quisling Center.
I like my colleges well endowed...
But anyhoo...anyone remember the SC decision GC won way back?
Ad to do with federal funding I believe.
