You are correct that Germany declared war on the US. I guess between 7 December when Japan went to war with USA, and 11 December, when Germany declared war on the USA, I would have liked to have seen some negotiation between the USA and Germany to agree to continue to allow the US to sell arms to the allies, and in exchange there would be no American soldiers. Is that naive? Is that me rewriting history to wish that something happened that didn’t happen?
The more I read about alliances the more I wonder if they are more trouble than they are worth for us.
