The solution to problems like this is simple. Defense attorneys that lie, obfuscate, etc. and get the guilty off with little or no consequences should have their licenses suspended for a certain period of time if the perpetrator does the same thing again. Judges who refuse to impose realistic penalties for the guilty should be suspended from the bench for a period of time and pass through a review board to return to judicial duties if the guilty party does the same thing again. Why should feckless behavior by attorneys and judges be tolerated?

A Massachusetts man (Robert LaPointe) had 19 violations before he ran over and killed two boaters at Long Lake, Maine.

The collision caused him and his underaged female passenger to be ejected from his speedboat, which continued for a half-mile before climbing an embankment before halting within a group of neighbors enjoying a BBQ cookout.
