Stopped right there. Such crimes are NOT unusual for New York City, nor historically rare. This is a return to 1960s/1970s New York City after sane people fled to the suburbs.

Well, I was born and raised in NYC. Left there in 1970 to go to college (didn't go back though). My parents lived in Queens until they passed away. We'd read about dead bodies found, but it was mostly due to the Mafia.

We'd read about dead bodies found, but it was mostly due to the Mafia.

As per the media. It was easier to tell the public that it was the Mafia than admit the truth that there were lunatics who had been unleashed from asylums and depraved criminals roaming the streets.
