The “red wave” that never materialized. That’s why I prefer pessimists over optimists. The ‘Doom and Gloomers’ are a lot more interesting.

The pollsters were not predicting a gain of 30 to 40 seats, because pollsters rarely poll the House races. It was wishful thinking by pundits, such a Newt Gingrich.
Like 2018 under Ryan, McCarthy tanked 2022 on purpose. I’m glad they are both gone.
