Ask your doctor about Lisinopril, also an ACE inhibitor - and hopefully more friendly for your needs. It is usually prescribed twice a day - which it appears that you may need.
Strictly my opinion: stay away from β-blockers - drugs with names generally ending in -olol. They nearly killed me twice - the second time because the doctor lied to me and I trusted his judgement. They are useful to help regulate irregular heart beats or fast heart rates. Once considered miracle drugs, obviously not for me!
