Yes. They’d have been married this past summer but his fiancée wants to have a bigger wedding than my son thinks is necessary. They just bought a house so they have considerable expenses and he doesn’t want to waste a lot of money on a one day event. I believe they‘ve decided to both work a little more to save money for the bigger wedding she wants, so the wedding will be in 2025. Her family is unable to contribute very much to the day. The fiancée went back to full time hours as a physiotherapist and took a part-time job as well, and my son is accepting as much overtime as he can. Philosophically, I’m with my son on this one, but I would never offer an opinion out loud at the risk of alienating my future daughter-in-law. I imagine children will follow quickly once they’re married.
