I was explaining to a friend recently about Teddy Roosevelt brokering a peace treaty between Japan and Russia in 1905, and in my telling, I said “Teddy Kennedy brokered a peace treaty in 1905...” and my friend stared at me in alarm and disbelief...quickly correcting me by pointing out Ted Kennedy had not even been born at that time.
Of course, I meant to say “Teddy Roosevelt”, and “Teddy Kennedy” just came out instead!
