Yep, that's not just an opinion. He was plotting a way to be restored to the throne, and he was open to cutting a deal with Hitler. Before he was shipped off to the Bahamas, all of his phone calls and correspondence were being tapped and read by British Intelligence agencies. His own brother George VI knew about it, and approved it.
