Really? Whoever knew that before? We’ve all known forever that dynastic European families inter-married and then those offspring intermarried. That was one of the root causes of the many wars in Europe.

in other words, the mostly Nordic/Germanic barbarian tribes of the migration period didn’t disappear, they took over. The same thing happened 300 years later with the Vikings.

Most don’t know this but the German people originated from southern Sweden and Denmark. Tho Romans took over the southern Celts and the Germans drove out or conquered the Celts of central and easter Europe.
