You are correct, of course. I save time by reading in email; as I only have limited computer time. FR is definitely the best news site on the planet.
That's the benefit of being old, and being retired. Nobody controls how I spend my time but me. I spend a lot of my time reading history books, and books from other genres. I usually have five hardback/paperbacks going at one time, plus I read from two books on my Kindle when I head to bed. I don't begin viewing programs on streaming channels until 9 p.m. or so. And because I'm retired, I don't usually go to bed until 3 or 4 a.m. every morning. I worked 3-11 p.m. most of my career, and never got out of the habit of staying up late. I've been retired for almost 21 years now, so the early morning times I stay up to, have been extended over those years.
