We spent a day in July in Pompeii many years ago. It was absolutely fascinating but I got the worst sunburn of my life on that day. I'd love to go back...in March or October...and spend more time there *and* in Herculaneum.

Herculaneum is fascinating and I prefer it to Pompeii. It’s like the inhabitants just left their homes or businesses and could come back at any time. I went a year ago and am sorry I waited so long!
