Many of those photos are just the getting posed photos of them standing next to each other but it seems that he and JFK Jr. were at the game together and friends, I think, that is the impression I got from Snopes.

I think you are underestimating the vast and enduring changes Reagan brought to America and the world, and Reagan did it before talk radio, before Fox, before we even knew that Republicans could have a Congressional majority, and before the internet, and before there was any real conservative awareness or language among the population, he did it pretty much alone in a sea of liberalism and liberal mass communication and all of one point of view.

In 1980 America practically no one would speak up as a conservative or admit to being a Christian at cocktail parties and at the water cooler, no one among the general public of the middle and upper middle class.

I think you overestimate the permanence of the changes Reagan made. With Rat Land candidates we are always one to two administrations from a permanent bureaucratic dystopia. In this modern InfoAge you don’t need a North Korean 1984 style government using terror to control people. You just bury them in a life of personal ineffectual greyness. Give them enough to keep them docile. Today you would probably get a plurality to agree with that life if you put enough smiley faces on it.

Not at all, I have lived through and am still living in it, domestically Reagan lingered for decades and still has influence, internationally we still live in the Reagan world, look at this diminished Russia and look at the free nations of Europe.

Nobody has to make those guys more effective. They already are effective. When was the last time you saw a deep state assassin prosecuted?

You proved nothing other than thinking seems to be MUCH slower south of the Red River. I never asked for your approval nor did I jerk your chain for an opinion, just pointed out something was totally off on that interview if your GREIVING the loss of your father and BEST FRIEND within a month. Nobody I know has that smirk when talking about a "dead" friend without it mixed with tears. Trump was less experienced in pulling this off and looks down for a moment (a "tell" in layman's terms).

Taking things at face value is what SHEEP tend to do when the wolves are hiding in plain sight. By all means keep your opinions to yourself and your head firmly planted in your backside, Tex. I'll take my chances on "being proven wrong" by those so tied to their false reality they feel the need to be a dick about it.

The New York Times obit for Fred Trump appears on June 26th, 1999. I didn’t follow up to see if anything appears after.

https://www.nytimes.com/1999/06/26/nyregion/fred-c-trump-postwar-master-builder-of-housing-for-middle-class-dies-at-93.html

JFK Jr. It would be possible to have “read” about Fred Trump’s death over the weekend and the letter written the following week, but it wouldn’t have been DATED the 19th of June or July. It certainly wouldn’t have taken more than 2 weeks for Trump to have “received” a condolence letter from a close friend, so the speculation that Larry was reading when Trump “received” the letter is ludicrous. It was clearly and “OOPS”, but I certainly wouldn’t look to Snopes to tell me that.

Disagree!
Accomplishments such as Reagan’s are fleeting unless vigorously followed up on.

If you find a credible debunking of it post it.

I don’t know how you missed the last 30 years but if nothing else, call the freed nations of Europe and ask them what their future was before Reagan, perhaps look into how conservative talk radio became possible.

Snopes is like 3 democrats who put a wetted finger in the wind to see if it will hurt their party or not. Whatever I find, I’ll post it....left, right, or indifferent and let others determine for themselves if it is credible or relevant to them. Doesn’t make a difference to me...I’ve formed my own opinions and don’t look to Texans to give them to me, regardless of how much they inflate their importance to the rest of us in fly-over country.

You keep bringing up Snopes for some reason, I’m just saying if you find a credible source detailing why Trump was lying then post it.

When the left lost the iron grip of the "Fairness doctrine" they held on all communication outlets, that was the seed change for the masses. You can actually tie the formation of this site and Rush Limbaugh to that monstrosity that made Joseph Goebbels proud. After that, the lock that democrats had on the country began to slowly fade away.

I didn't rely on Snopes for any post. See #38. Snopes HQ posted a selfie for you though...
