his great pedestal that the Corvette has been risen to has also allowed the car to grow and expand in the aftermarket world. As we all know, the aftermarket scene can be a powerful thing, pun intended. However, when starting with a platform as awesome as the nation's greatest American powerhouse there is a lot of potential to make something truly amazing. This is best exemplified by today’s example which is a fantastic combination of lightweight and heavy horsepower.
It all started with a little red C8 Corvette. After a long and arduous process, this vehicle has driven headfirst into the realm of automotive greatness. This ascension was helped in large part due to the twin-turbo system which allows the acquisition of over 1,075 horsepower. Nobody want a manual transmission in a super car.
The human element not only is slower than the auto, they are dangerous too. Uncontrollable.
the first corvettes were powered by an inline 6 cylinder engine...
Long version of “turbochargers take energy OUT of the exhaust stream, they don’t add it”
I’m well aware of the benefits as I’m spending a fortune on a hybrid turbo upgrade.

I absolutely loved my Datsun 240Z (‘72) with manual transmission.
My first wife made me sell it because it scared her. She also made me sell my AuquaCat because she was afraid of the water.
Four years later, I got rid of her, but my Z and Cat were gone.
You mean you can pull those kind of stunts on a street & get away with it? How many folks could keep a street wheelie under control?
Some say the C8 isn’t a corvette anymore.
Or yourself, many a 911 driver has crashed the thing going backwards around a corner, oversteer.
Why, because of the improved handling?
People say (it’s like I’m qouting the MSM) because the new vettes are mid engine.
One of the main reasons they handle well.
I’m sure they handle fantasticly. I’m too tall for them but I fit into my 1990 Nissan 300zx nicely.
Once when my daughter was visiting I offered to go pick up some takeout. She handed me the keys to my SIL’s Genesis Sports Coupe. The next day he said to her, “Why did the fuel mileage average drop so low?”
Grin. You again?
