My dad drank Old Style, and if wherever I'm at doesn't carry Guinness I ask for Old Style, since it's pretty much what I grew up with.

Asking for an Old Style is usually good for a few comments around the bar.

I was in Ft. Lauderdale on vacation over 30 years ago, driving down A1A I saw a bar with an Old Style sign in the window. I had to stop. I sit down at the bar and order an Old Style and the bartender says “you must be from Chicago.” I don’t know if it was my accent, or because I wanted an Old Style. O.S. was number one seller in Chicago, sold better than Bud and Miller at one time

I quit drinking over ten years ago, but if a bar didn’t have Old Style I wouldn’t drink. Loved the longneck bottles. Guys at work gave me the business, said it was an old man beer.
