National Guard? Those poor bastards! There is nothing they can do. They can’t shoot anyone, they can’t arrest anyone, they can’t detain anyone. All they can do is let themselves get beaten by the mob to slow them down a bit. They can stand behind the barricades and try to keep them from being breached. They might be allowed to toss some tear gas but that’s about it.
