Agreed. We need a Speaker who is a MAGA-loyal disruptor. Business as usual won’t cut it. Enough trimming around the edges, or nudging the needle a degree or two. We need someone willing to wield a chainsaw, and do so with pride and gusto.

This year D+35 to D+50. If Trump wins, the party will split as leadership is either weakly behind him or openly opposed. If Trump loses, the party will disintegrate.

The same thing that happened to the Progressive Conservative Party in Canada in 1993 and to the UK Conservative Party this year is about to happen to the GOP, and for the same reasons.

The clown show that the House GOP has put on for the last two years has been catastrophic for their image, already damaged by constrant betrayal of their voters since 1994 and especially since their betrayal of their own President.

I think Gaetz has a good grasp of the behind the scenes cliques within the Republican Party, and judging by McCarthy’s ouster, seems to have a good strategic sense. It seems pretty clear that he played a central role in getting rid of McCarthy. That alone counts highly in his favor.
