Dude, nothing is safe.

More recourses? From public funds? Then you got public education.

The arguments about ending public schooling haven’t been completely formulated or made in a way that makes sense as policy.

Of course there are problems in every school, and many entire school systems are crap, bloated and need to be reformed to continue to push us forward.

Arguing that anyone who can procreate can also educate their progeny to greatness or a Heisman trophy better than professional teachers isn’t thinking it through.

And, somehow, I feel I need to emphasize, that there are exceptional people, who can thrive under any circumstances. It’s just not the rule, or even a significant percentage.

Nope. That's not what I'm proposing. Although I would support tax credits if you're a family trying to home school your children.

I meant resources like Khan Academy

We're expecting too much from the government to do things for us. Our society is starting to fall apart. So it's time to become more assertive with the way we live our lives.

There's been a lot of changes in the past couple of decades. Government schools are simply not a choice for some families. It's a tv show but you should check out The Wire season 4 where it introduces Baltimore's school system.
