What Muslims don’t understand is that the Bible does not forbid drinking alchol. It puts you in a state of uncleanliness, to which the stricture is not being able to go to the temple while you have alcohol in your system.

But it does not forbid drinking. It just demands you use wisdom to see if it is right for you. If you have a penchant for alcoholism, wisdom says that you should not drink. But it is not forbidden for everybody.

What I find interesting is that Abraham, Moses and Jesus, and all of the other personalities of the Bible, or drank wine, and probably more than just that. They profess to revere these people as their own prophets, but this particular thing they cannot do. It is inexplicable, except that Mohammed must have been victimized in some way when he was drunk one time, so he forbade all of his followers from ever having a drink. Of course, we all know how well prohibition works.
