I have the memories. A college girlfriend was a genuine redhead. Svelte, beautiful, not the stereotypical hothead. We weren’t meant to be. But I remember her fondly.

My ancestors were from Spain-most from the Spanish Pyrenees-Basques. I have dark red hair gray/green eyes and no freckles. One uncle and an aunt had that coloring, as do 3 of my 1st cousins. And yes, we do have the same volatile Latin temper as our brunette family members-blame those Romans...
