I'm not sure how badly Costco is hurt by shoplifting compared to Target and Walmart. Costco is a member only venue, and now they're cracking down on non-members trying to get in - Not that members won't steal, but probably fewer than the run of the mill Walmart clientele

Do not forget ... which may be a primary source of loss ... pilferage from out the back door ... either staff or straight-up thievery.

Don’t think that the only source of loss comes through the front door.
