A local woman was arrested early Saturday for allegedly stabbing another woman multiple times during an argument after the victim ran up to a Hot Springs police officer.
Vera Lashonea Jordan, 51, aka "Shawn," who lists a Terry Street address, was taken into custody shortly before 2:30 a.m. and charged with a felony count of second-degree battery, punishable by up to six years in prison.
Jordan, who lists no prior felony history, was later released on a $2,500 bond (snip)
According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly before 1:30 a.m., an HSPD officer was conducting a traffic stop in the 300 block of Mound Street when a woman ran up to him reporting she had been stabbed.
The officer noted the woman had "bleeding injuries to her arms," so emergency aid was administered and then the woman was transported by LifeNet to a local hospital for treatment.
The woman stated a Black female she knew as "Shawn" had stabbed her outside a residence on Mound Street following an argument between them. She said "Shawn," who was wearing all white with white shoes, had fled the scene in a gray Dodge Charger, but she was able to provide her address on Terry Street.
Officers noted there was "a significant amount" of blood located outside the Mound Street residence where the altercation reportedly occurred. (snip)
It was also noted Jordan was wearing a white shirt, white shorts, white socks and white tennis shoes and blood was observed on both her clothing and her shoes. When questioned about it, Jordan allegedly said, "You know what's going on." (snip)
Jordan was taken into custody after the interview and transported to the detention center where she was booked in around 7 a.m. and released a short time later.
