This sounds like BS. Who would pay that much?

I bet neither one of them would pay $333 to attend one of their friends weddings!

If they had understood the concept of price and demand, they could have saved the cost of wedding invitations and stamps.

They didn’t “save” anything: they paid expenses, and they generated revenue.
Paying the fee was their guests’ decision. Personally, I would have sent a card and stayed home.

That’s a good excuse to get out of having to go to a wedding.

in many countries/cultures, wedding attendees give $$cash as a wedding gift - which may more-or-less covers the cost of the wedding itself.

Confused. It says 60 of the 150 invited accepted. Then it says 80% declined.
What idiots, All

Not an Italian wedding I surmise.
At a NY Italian weeding people bring cash gifts. Just watch the godfather wedding scene where Paulie Gatto says
“ Thirty, forty grand. In small bills cash, in that little silk purse. Madon’, if this was somebody else’s wedding, sfortunato!”

Did the bridesmaids have to pay for those hideous dresses? Did the groomsmen have to pay for those awful pink tuxedos (with shorts, no less)?
Also, could guests pay the $333 with EBT?

I was charged $10 to go to a reception in NYC in the early ‘90s. It was held in an upstairs yoga studio in Greenwich Village, and featured finger food and a pasta dish (groom is Italian), and no seating. The best man, an aged Forfham professor climbed a worker’s ladder in the middle of the room to toast the couple. The Yoga Studio had a sign on the door, “No Smoking, and No Cats”. I would love to hear the story that led to that.
Th couple are still happily married, as far as I know.
