I saw the Pompeii exhibit in Chicago in the late 70s. It’s sobering looking at those “casts” of victims realizing that they had NO chance of escaping their fate. The same thing could happen today. Those were people once.

It looks like those coins, for all their age, are in pristine condition.

Studying Pompeii was the most interesting part of Latin classes in high school.
