A few factoids, with one directed at your post —

1) Heart disease is the number one killer up to age 60. Then the #1 and #2 causes flip.

2) Strangely, cause of cirrhosis about 2 yrs ago stopped being primarily alcohol. It is NASH — a severe form of fatty liver that progresses to cirrhosis without massive weight loss.

3) The reason old age becomes a difficult cause of death declaration is because of Life Expectancy by age. Covid effects are still in the LE stats but a reasonable number is 76 — AT BIRTH. But if you make it to 65, your LE is well beyond 76. And if you make it to 80, 87ish is what the stats say. So dying at 82 could be presumed to be a tad early.
