My favorite all-time Olympics story was the friendship between Lutz Long and Jesse Owens in the 1936 Berlin Games.

At the 1924 Olympics there was a black American who was not allowed to participate in some races but as I recall won the 110 hurdles. He received the friendship of many British and American athletes. He may have been the first Black to have medaled in the Olympic Games.
