I tried the miniseries “Man in the High Castle” and couldn’t take it.

My first experience with PKD was “Our Friends from Frolix 8”, oddly it was in the hometown library, circa 1971. My sci-fi reading older sister had never heard of him and read it after I did, I think I just renewed it so she could.

I read the book after watching much of the mini-series. After they decided to make Ed a fag and he kissed on screen, I turned it off, and canceled my Prime. The book was interesting but felt unfinished. The TV series version was mostly engaging for me in the first season (despite me finding later how much it deviated from the book). One problem I had was how much was stored on 16mm film in the most unlikely scenarios. The actor who played the Nazi leader with the sickly son was very, very good. The girl who played Juliana was captivating, and she did a fantastic job of playing different characters in different situations.

I can see how Philip K. Dick likely influenced the Silver Age DC comics of his era.
