They seem really bothered about losing heat. What are they gonna use to generate electricity from the reaction?

heating steam to generate mechanical force to create electricity is the old standby model. But ideally, wouldn’t you prefer to insulate the heat?

Well, the plasma needs to be heated to very high temperature to start the fusion. Once it starts, it should generate a lot of energy.
Fusion is how Sun generates its energy. Fusing Hydrogen into Helium has incredible energy potential, gallon of water has potential energy of 660 gallons of gas. Clean energy, And even Helium is useful, we now have a big shortage of it!
We could burn oceans for a vey long time. Forget the windmills, solar, coal and gas.
But it is tricky to control.
