Not really. It’s almost always enriched today. And parboiled like Uncle Ben’s steams the vitamins into the rice before the husk is removed. Brown goes rancid much faster also.
But white rice is fine. Even plain white rice is ok. It has fewer vitamins but it’s a real stretch to call it nutritionally bankrupt.
Brown rice will not go rancid if stored properly.
Oxygen absorbers help, but freezing it works well, too.
