Five million years ago was the last time it completely dried out. I believe there have been numerous times when the water flow at Gibraltar has been stopped and the Med was partially dessicated. There are salt deposits two miles think on the bottom of the Med.

Yes, the Zanclean flood was the last refill from the Atlantic. It took years.
