Whatever was said to Zuck the You-Kn0w-What, it didn't prevent Google from sending an e-mail on Monday, stating that 3 days from then, all users with Android devices would automatically be incorporated into the "Find Your Device" network, allegedly consisting of more than 1 billion Android users. If the user's phone is offline, location somehow still occurs, through Bluetooth from Google's end
Since I haven't yet gotten around to migrating to Proton, I still use Gmail for work purposes. In little tiny print at the bottom of the amail, there was a link for opting out of the network. Not sure if that will do any good or not.
Long story short, Google doesn't give a sub-atomic particle of a rat's hindquarters about people locating their phones. Google cares about THEM locating people's phones. There are times when having the phone with me is non-negotiable, so Google's latest gambit is doubly annoying.
Re Phone Tracking:
We are already being tracked/ monitored from space by the “ good” guys anyway. About all we can do now is protect our souls and our DNA.
We’ve got to make it to November, to vote and fight.
