It was a beautiful morning as we sailed into the Med in 1979. I had my guys at quarters on the flight deck. They were facing north and I was facing south.

I finished with the Plan of the Day and asked the chief if he had anything else. He said no so I called the Division to attention. Instead of dismissing them I called About Face. I explained about the Pillars of Hercules and that the mountains ahead of them were known as the Atlas Mountains named for that great American body builder, Charles Atlas.

I dismissed the guys and the Chief turned to me and said, "Remind me never to play poker with you sir. You almost had me believing that."
