Let's make something clear about AI. AI is so powerful that it could end civilization. Maybe even destroy the planet. However, it must be told to do that by someone, meaning a human. AI will never ever be sentient. It can act like it, but it's not. It can only follow the directives in it's code. Bad people make code to do bad things.
AI doesn’t have to be sentient to be a double edged sword.
