if the first allegedly disabling shot came from behind, and the second allegedly fatal shot also came from behind, this might help explain why the SS has been so slow to release details, since there were no SS personnel stationed behind crooks— that is, for better or otherwise, both the disabling shot and the fatal shot came from local police, not SS. IOW, despite being hindered by SS in several ways, it was the local police who ID’d and stopped crooks.
update to my own conjecture: according to the autopsy report, the fatal shot came from one of the SS sniper teams in front of crooks, so my conjecture should be withdrawn.
