I can’t sympathize much with the women. They could end this insanity in a second by all simply walking out, but they don’t.
Why they keep participating is beyond me.
Won’t happen, and here’s why: these athletes (just like all the rest) work for their entire lives from childhood to be the best and make it to the Olympics. First, making it and then boycotting makes no sense with those facts behind it. Second, if a mass boycott was organized, it would operate like a cartel, with each member being incentivized to cheat.
That said, I do agree with you and not just for the Olympics, but for ALL sports, worldwide, for any age group. If the women would all unite, this immoral and nonsensical garbage would stop in a heartbeat.
Think about it. You train for YEARS. You make it to the Olympic games. The pinnacle of athletic achievement. And you just walk away without even trying? I don’t blame the women. They are put in an impossible position. Its easy to blame them from an easy chair in the living room.
