Our Founding Fathers did not give them the right to vote for a good reason.
It wasn't as if the Founders removed the right of women to vote - it was that, in all of human history with very few oddball exceptions, civic leadership was not seen as an appropriate place for women. For someone to suggest that women should be included in the voting franchise at the federal level would have seemed bizarre at the time, akin to suggesting that women should also serve in uniform in armies or navies during war. The Founders were simply acting in accordance with common wisdom. But hey, back then, they knew what a woman was without a biology degree.
