**Well duh. And here I thought the waitress snapped the shot with her Brownie.**
God was smart in sending his Son even before mankind got good with paints and painting, let alone the invention of the camera. Otherwise, people would have been glorifying every guy that ‘looked just like Jesus’, praising every woman that liked like Mary, and sneering at every poor sap that looked like Judas.
The story of Joseph in Genesis 37 tells us all we need to know about the appearance of Jesus Christ: the coat of many colors.
Joseph existed before coming to the promised land. It was after coming there we read of him being given the coat of many colors and interacting with his brothers, who quickly decided that they hated him.
When Jesus (Savior of every color) appeared, he showed great wisdom, and condemned hypocracy; which made his fellow hebrews angry and jealous.
The pit Joseph’s brothers threw him in was symbolic of Jesus’ death and burial. Joseph’s coat was splattered with goats blood, and shown to Joseph’s father Jacob; which symbolized Jesus ascending to heaven, to show himself God the Father.
...show himself TO God the Father.
I love the whole story of Joseph, his brothers, forgiveness. A “type of Christ”.
