That’s true. Just like in any restaurant, it could be a backup or staffing problems in the kitchen, and not the waiter’s fault.
BTW, yesterday I began my “Trump won’t tax tips” campaign after lunch when leaving my tip. Wrote it on a (clean) napkin in large letters. Guess I’ll print out a bunch on Avery business cards for the future.
TN is red, anyhow, so it probably won’t matter. But maybe it’ll start spreading the word.
Good for you. Taxing tips is just plain theft. If I give a bum on the street a couple bucks, is that taxable? Is the IRS going after bums too? Musicians on the street corners? A tip is for doing a job well done, should not be taxed. If I owned a restaurant I’d pay my workers well, and if they got tips I would make it sure I didn’t know a damn thing. Screw the government that squanders our money.
