This is true regardless of whether or not someone believes it was an inside job. I personally think it is laziness/gross incompetence rather than a conspiracy, and they just don't want to admit it.
But the stonewalling certainly gives fuel to those who believe it was a conspiracy.
I do think there were decisions made not to give Trump more protection, that President Jill's detail was likely ridiculously large courtesy of her buddy in charge of the Secret Service.
