It takes a year to go through under graduate pilot training. Then three months to go though Lead-in-fighter training. A month for Land, combat and water survival. One week for centrifuge training. At that point you would be able to begin F-16 training which takes 6 months. Once complete you go to an operational unit. The operational unit at that point begins seasoning training in all aspects of the aircraft capability. Depending on weather and other factors, your seasoning training may take an additional 4 to 6 months. After your seasoning training is complete, a pilot is awarded Combat Mission Ready (CMR) Status.
