Curious, given the significant knowledge and talent spread across the Freeper nation, which video editing software do you use?
That’s great! As you said, there’s lots of similar work out there, but if you can find a niche with it, you’ll find an audience. Maybe you can run your political viewpoints through the lens of scripture. If you watch the “Body Language Ghost”, her popular niche is conservative politics through her lens of body language cues. Nothing too long or fancy, but interesting. I, for one, would love more info on how today’s events might tie to Revelations. Anyway, having a niche is key!
Also, I’ve been studying YouTube and social media all year, for my business. I’ve learned a ton. If you have any question about any of it, feel free to message me. I might have some tips.
That’s great! Like me, you probably also worked with the old 3/4” video decks and tube cameras. Ha! One of my few career claims to fame was buying the very last batch of 16mm film 1730 (sp?) commercial grade stock from Kodak at the time everyone transitioned to HD. Calling the girl at Kodak was like calling Dunder Mifflin. I’m in real estate investing now, but interest killed me last year. I’m tempted to get back into side gig editing. Was a fun career.
Final Cut Pro. Extremely cheap for what it offers. Just like Logic for music production. Apple is practically giving away creative software to sell Macs.
Is FCP a one-time purchase like Logic Pro?
I’ve got a little editing to do for a short product demonstration video. I’ve never done it before and was thinking of just using iMovie but if FCP isn’t super expensive I might go that route.
Yes, it’s the same. $299 last I checked - but it has capabilities worth thousands of dollars.
I know 3/4 well, the great U-Matic.
Tube cameras were long gone before I got there.
The studio mounts would at random every once a long while go into setup while in use. Some French make.
However I have some hours with Ampex AVR quad VTRs. High and low band heads.
I grabbed a quad reel to have when the tape library was being purged. Not sure where it is now.
