I have a feeling her Slavic culture allows corporal punishment, which is not necessarily a bad thing. It worked quite well in the 50’s & 60’s and never caused PTSD and the recipients mostly never went to jail and were reasonably successful in their lives.
Remove corporal punishment, limited to spankings on the rear end, as a parenting tool and we have what we have today.
Again, that lady went way beyond acceptable boundaries. A little jail time would have been a good idea.

Yup, exactly- th3 kid could very well have slid on the floor, hit a corner or the wall with his head, causing a broken neck.
