To my knowledge the only crops growing in Montecito are grapes for the wineries (many of which are owned by rich Hollywood celebrities). The real agricultural / crops are further north in the San Joaquin and Sacramento Valley areas.
Montecito is known for killer landslides and mudflows.
Unless someone imported some plants illegally...
Now I wonder who would do that in that neck of the woods?
