I watched the video yesterday, the Bedminster courses are par 72 meaning you need at least birdie on every hole and a few eagles thrown in to shoot 49 and break 50
Trump and Dechambeau were playing best ball from the red or ladies tees to shorten the course
A lot of the par 4s Dechambeau could drive
They ended up shooting -22 or 50 on the number with Trump rolling in about a 20-footer on 18 for birdie
They missed birdie on one hole which cost them 49 and missed a couple of chances for eagle on the par 4s otherwise they would have broken 50
All in all it was enjoyable and Dechambeau is a natural in that type of situation
Trump is highly golf focused.
In addition to being PDG as an old, “fat[MSNBC evaluation]” golfer, he knows his courses.
It’s interesting to see him in action.
The real spoiler alert is that Trump can play, and hits the ball REAL good. He even made a solo eagle on a par 4.
They raised $220k for Wounded Warriors out of their own pockets from the golf alone. Viewers have kicked in another $19k so far.
