“unbelievable”
Especially considering all that he spawned.

Mayall was known for the great guitar players in his band. However, he said something to the effect that guitar players come and go, but lose a good bass player, now you’re in trouble.

First concert I ever went to without my parents. 16 yrs old. Frankfurt, West Germany 1971.

The word Legend is overused. But not with John Mayall. RIP.

Sic transit Gloria mundi. A true original.
Unfortunately, there ain’t much of that type of innovation going on nowadays.

Where’s that “Hey Mick, I’m still alive” pic of Keith Richard’s at.

Good memories.

Saw him in the 80's with Coco Montoya on lead, and in the 90's with Mick Taylor. Both iterations had John Macvie on bass.
BTW - Mick Taylor still rockin' in his trademark sport jacket. Nice.

Watching that 2008 Montreux vid you posted is going to make me late for work this morning. Outstanding jam. Pure and solid Mayall.

I had to rebuild my LP collection, as, back in the late 80’s I switched to CD’s. A series of mishaps, including widowhood, foreclosure, interstate moves, and a brief period of couch-surfing dispatched the few that were left.
But now, due to the proliferation of used record stores, I’m almost back to my original collection.
Life is Good.
