Oh, that does sound very much as if your relative is indeed a high-functioning autistic, like I am. And yes, autism seems to be heritable to a considerable degree.

I am very sorry for her🙁 It really is difficult to live with an autistic relative, both for the patient and for anyone around him or her.

And her speech patterns, as you have described them, is called logorrhea - quite a few autistics have it as a comorbidity, especially those who are above average intelligence.

Yes, and you might try a search with the terms of autism and logorrhea to find some useful information. Echolalia, i.e. repeating one‘s own words or other‘s, can also be a comorbidity in persons with autism.

I do wish your relatives, who are on the spectrum, all the best, and often therapy can be very beneficial to the patients - and their loved ones 😀
