“Amos and Andy” — the TV show — also was one of the first to show blacks in professional positions and in a positive light: bank managers, doctors, lawyers, a couple of judges. But nope! Nowadays that’s racist (and Tim Moore was awesome!).

Amos & Andy were the only exposure to black folks many white people had in some parts of the country.
