Dallas Fire Rescue (DFR) responded to a three-alarm fire just after 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Dallas Church at 1707 San Jacinto St.

The saying goes “when the stick (ladder) goes up, the building goes down.” They are basically trying to protect exposures at this point.

With that much fire inside, they are not going to make an interior attack due to the risk of collapse. They will just spray water from the outside until it drowns and will likely have personnel on scene for several days to take care of hot spots.

The same happened in Chattanooga 3 years ago to a beautiful Baptist chapel and it was over 100 years old……It was a large brick ornate church with a pipe organ and brass cathedral chimes
It was lovely…
It was used for weddings and smaller venues

The larger sanctuary was next door and it burned too
