Jagger would go ape sh!t, if Trump used this song at a rally.

Merry Clayton makes this song all that it is.

You do know what happened to her as a result of singing on it. Sad story.

Merry Clayton, as awesome as she was, couldn’t hold a candle to Janis.

Yeah, it would be controversial. Rape, murder, it's just a shot away. Adequately describes Biden's invasion force.
As for the song itself, I like it!

Lisa Fischer, who has performed this song excellently for years on Stones tours, has said every time she sings it is her tribute to Merry Clayton.

Christian singer Ashley Cleveland does a knockout version of “Gimme Shelter.” It’s on YouTube. As Jerry Lee Lewis suggests, she “just stands in one spot and wiggles around just a little bit.” Sexier than any of our half-naked twerking divas.

A shot was not referring to a bullet. Mick got away with a lot, I have no envy for him or his music.

To me, this song perfectly captures the chaos and destruction that came with the cultural revolution.

Some days I think this is the Stones best song, other days it’s #2 right behind ‘Rocks Off’.
To: CaptainK
Yes indeed! This is just an average track without her power. So much so you even hear Mick let out a “WOOOO!” at one point when she’s pushing really hard.
There’s a great interview with her, and when the opening notes play you can see it hit her. There are LOTS of feelings attached to this song for her.
